The Times has adroitly managed to turn a good news story into yet another broadside against America's strong economy following the tax cuts in 2003. For stories like these and their zealous campaign to berate the Bush Administration, the Times deserves the bashing it's taking. They probably believe they're right in doing all in their power to elect a Democrat administration and Congress, but blindness to facts and national security have overtaken their common sense.
