Temperatures Rise Over Cartoons Mocking Muhammad - New York Times

The Muslim jihad includes more than violence, war and bloodshed. It includes intimidation of the culture. The EU should take the stand, as should we in the U.S., that free speech in a free society includes the publishing or all sorts of political and religious speech and keep on doing it. If they halt these cartoons, they will be caving in to intimidation.

Why is it that there is actually a name for this act when it involves Jews (anti-Semitism) and is actually punishable by law in many countries, but when it involves Muslims, they're just being "touchy"? That's just blatant hypocrisy.

Anti-Islamic is as good a descriptor as anti-Semitic. Cartoons as free speech may not be in good taste, thus offensive to some, but aren't political cartoons always offensive to someone?
