Though these tests cost money and take time, properly designed and done by reputable scientists and doctors they will prove or disprove the value of popular supplements. Rigorous controlled tests of other supplements should be conducted, too, so that the folklore can be separated form the practical, proven results.

In this case Echinacea is shown to be worthless for treating colds.
