Great idea, but how will this play out in practice ? Will companies like IDX file lawsuits to protest this government sponsored alternative to thier own products? Will the VistaOffice sytem interoperate with other sytems so that doctors and hospitals can share patient data with non-Vista systems? Will existing paper records be scanned or otherwise entered into Vista or is this only a go-forward system?
This Times article leaves far too many unanswered questions.
