The New York Times > International > Bombing in Riyadh Said to Target Saudi Security Headquarters

It should be clear to anyone paying attention that given the string of violent acts, this is a global war that terrorists have ignited. More, it's a war for the hearts and heads of Muslims. The terrorists want to ignite Muslim countries against the West and turn this into a religious/cultural conflict.

My prayer is that rational Muslim leaders everywhere will recognize they must reject the terrorists and take all possible measures to eradicate the violent terrorist leaders and those that consort with them. Moreover, they must reject the cultural and societal mess they have made of their countries.

The pain of the Iraq war may be only a precursor of what's ahead for other Arab countries. I fear we are seeing a disintegration of the fragile relationships between the West and Muslim regimes so mired in medieval thinking, poverty and hatred.

Terrorism must never be accepted as normalcy by any society and free people must never compromise with terrorists who target innocents.
