O'Reilly Network: The Fuss About Gmail and Privacy: Nine Reasons Why It's Bogus [Apr. 16, 2004]
Tim O'Reilly (O'Reilly & Associates) thoughtfully posits a 'network is the computer' thesis. While not a new thought, he sees the Google Gmail offering as a step in the direction of network storage. He correctly dismisses the privacy falderal as ill-advised. I agree with him on this. People can just say 'No' to the service. This piece is well worth the read.
