SBC Negotiates a Deal to Let a Rival Use Its Lines

These negotiations will lead to more reasonable prices for access to the local telco lines and will keep wholesale and retail prices from falling through the floor. It's good that UNEs are dead. Given the proliferation of wireless (generally unregulated) and broadband (likely subject to less regulation as time goes on) the switched PSTN is dying a slow death anyway because VOIP reigns.
